Recycle Your Electronics

Civilization marches onward!  Dispose of your cathode ray tube television or last year’s phone model in a civilized way. Zero to Go sends us this timely reminder:

THIS WEEKEND! October 14/15, Poughkeepsie: Electronics Recycling Day. 12-4pm at the Hudson Valley Marketplace, 130 Salt Point Turnpike. Suggested donation of $5. Friday 10/14 is for businesses, and pre-registration is required (email btravers@advancedrecovery.com). Sat. 10/15 is for everyone, no registration needed. More info here.

October 22, Beacon: Electronics Recycling Day. 9am-1pm, City Hall Parking Lot, 1 Municipal Plaza, Beacon. Open to all, free, and no registration required. The Tri-County Crisis Center will be collecting working cellphones for victims of domestic violence. More info here.

November 5, Poughkeepsie: Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day. Bring electronics & chemicals. $5, registration required. More info here.

Then again, if you just can’t bear to part with your old analog TV, you could always convert it into a paperweight or floor lamp.
